Presented by Sheep No Wool and The Howland Company, with the generous support of Soulpepper Theatre Company.

On April 25th 2015, a massive earthquake caused devastation in Nepal and the surrounding regions. One year later, relief efforts are still under way. Join us this April 25th in support of The Tibet Fund's Earthquake Relief, for a reading of the newest work from playwright Sarah Ruhl: 'The Oldest Boy' explores the traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, and the conflicted feelings of an American mother and Tibetan-born father when their three year old son is recognized as the reincarnation of a High Buddhist Lama. This drama is a touching, funny, and poetic cross-cultural exploration of love, between teacher and student, mother and son, husband and wife, traveller and homeland.

Joining us will be Tibetan multi-instrumentalist, Dorjee Tsering, along with Gelek Gyaltong, Ins Choi, Maev Beaty and Anand Rajaram. Directed by Courtney Ch'ng Lancaster and produced by Alan Dilworth.

8pm, April 25th 2016, in the Garland Cabaret at Soulpepper Theatre Company (50 Tank House Lane, Toronto)
