Honouring Canada's Legacy in Afghanistan, Vimy Brewing, Saturday, 13. October 2018

On 7 October 2001 Canada committed itself to joining a NATO-led and United Nations-sanctioned mission in Afghanistan that would see over 40,000 CAF members be deployed, making this military engagement the largest deployment of CAF personnel since the Second World War.
Over a period of more than 12-years, CAF members conducted operations in Afghanistan in roles that included air, land and sea assets which greatly assisted in improving security, diplomacy, human rights and development. One hundred and fifty-eight Canadian soldiers and more than 1,800 Canadians were wounded.
On 13 October 2018, 17-years and six-days after Canada's commitment was made, please join your community members at veteran-owned Vimy Brewing to hear Memory Project speaker WO John Gallagher share his story of service and discuss Canada's legacy in Afghanistan. All proceeds raised will go to Wounded Warriors.
