Festival of Witchcraft and Wizardry: a Magical Fanhood party, Canada, Friday, 13. October 2017

All ages welcome. Drinks are non-alcoholic and no alcohol will be served at this event.
There is an option to make a donation on the ticketing page. This event currently has no outside funding, so all ticket revenue will be going to pay for the expenses of this festival. Please consider leaving something to show your appreciation of the efforts of all the amazing volunteers donating their talents to make this event happen. Print your e-tickets, and arrive EARLY for your events. You might have to park far away, and there will be crowds. Also, dress for the weather.

***To get your drinks*** Take your e-tickets to the booth in Dragon Alley (84 Ave), where you'll get your drink tokens, to redeem in Hogshead Village (Light Horse Park).

Here is the schedule of events (note that the journey between the train and the movie theatre is 5 minutes on foot, going at a non-rushing pace). A site map and schedule will be sent to all guests the day before the festival:

Dragon Alley $FREE - FRIDAY 3:00 - 9:00 PM, 84 Ave, east of 104 St, market stalls of local vendors selling magical themed wares

Hogshead Village $FREE - FRIDAY 3:00 - 9:00 pm (Light Horse Park) Food Trucks, local market vendors and live entertainment

Library Wing $FREE - FRIDAY 3:00 - 6:00 pm (Old Strathcona Library) Various crafts and activities including wand-making. FIrst come, first served. No reservations. All ages welcome.

Quidditch Practice - FRIDAY (times TBA) Quidditch Pitch (Dr. Wilbert McIntyre Park)

Magical Express Train Ride $25 - FRIDAY 3:00, 3:40, 6:15 and 6:55, SATURDAY 5:00, 5:40, 6:20 and 7:00 departures (Return trip leaving from Edmonton Streetcar platform behind Arts Barns, lasts 35 minutes, children under 12 require adult chaperone who must also have a ticket, children 2 and under may ride without a ticket (ie. free) on lap of an adult who also has a ticket. Children 3 and up require a ticket) ***Sold Out***

Photo Booth $20 - Open FRIDAY from 4:00-6:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm (Wilbert McIntyre Gazebo (AKA Headmaster's Office) includes professional photograph for up to four people in decorated booth with pet phoenix, pet owl, and other props, high resolution image emailed instantly to your inbox and high quality print provided before you leave the booth)

Photo Booth $By Donation - Open SATURDAY from 5:00 - 7:00 pm (Performing Arts Centre - AKA Classroom Wing) Take your picture in the Headmaster's Office, with his pet Phoenix, or your own pet owl, as well as other props.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone $15 - FRIDAY 3:50 pm start (Princess Theatre, Rated PG, duration 2 hrs 39 mins.)

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them $15 - FRIDAY 9:00 start (Princess Theatre, Rated PG, duration 2 hrs 13 mins.)

Divination Class $10 - FRIDAY 4:00 and 8:00 start (Performing Arts Centre (AKA Classroom Wing) duration a 30-minute show for all ages, children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult) ***8:00 show Sold Out***

Potions Class $10 - FRIDAY 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 start (Performing Arts Centre (AKA Classroom Wing) a 30-minute show for all ages, children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult) ***Sold Out***

Buttery Beer $5 - Served FRIDAY from 3:00 - 9:00 (Light Horse Park - AKA Hogshead Village) and SATURDAY from 4:00 - 8:00 pm (Edmonton Streetcar Platform) Pre-purchase only, served cold, locally made from scratch using all natural ingredients including real butter and cane sugar, contains no gluten, prepared in a nut-free facility, does contain dairy, contains no actual beer.

Pumpkin Juice $5 - Served FRIDAY from 3:00 - 9:00 (Light Horse Park - AKA Hogshead Village) and SATURDAY from 4:00 - 8:00 pm (Edmonton Streetcar) Pre-purchase only, served warm, locally brewed using real pumpkin, autumn spices and fruit juices, topped with your choice of whipped cream or non-dairy topping, contains no gluten and no dairy (except optional whipped cream topping), prepared in a nut-free facility, contains no eye of newt.

Tickets for this event can only be purchased online, at the link below or at www.RegencyEncounters.com. If you do not have a credit card, we recommend you find someone who does and ask them to buy the tickets for you. You can buy tickets any time, even on the day, subject to availability, but all sales are online only.
If you do not purchase any event tickets, you are welcome on Friday to peruse the market of local vendors selling magical wares and handmade items, and patronize the food trucks selling English style fare like fish and chips, steak and kidney pie, and other gluten-free and vegan options yet to be determined. On Friday, you can also watch Quidditch practice, take Harry Potter Yoga and just enjoy the festive atmosphere and costumed characters. Events on Saturday include Train rides, photo booth, Pumpkin Juice and Butter Beer. You can also pre-order a hot, fresh savoury pie for dinner while you are down there.
